We offer an exciting programme of Scouting activities for boys and girls aged 6 to 14 years old.

Our Scout Group is organised in five sections:

We currently have around 130 young members from Stanstead Abbotts, Stanstead St. Margaret's, Great Amwell, Hoddesdon, Roydon, Ware and the surrounding areas.

Staffed by over 25 enthusiastic and committed adult volunteers, we are an active and successful Group always looking for new members, both young people and adults.

Happy St George's Day! Patron Saint of Scouting

Scouting's founder, Lord Robert Baden Powell chose St George to be the movement's Patron Saint because " St. George was typical of what a Scout should be".

  • Dedicated to helping others

Beavers, Cubs and Scouts from throughout the area will be renewing their 'Promises' at Ware Priory on Sunday afternoon after the 1,000 strong annual St George's parade through the town. Please join us as we watch and support all of our 140 Beavers, Cubs and Scouts along with their leaders as they parade along Ware's High Street. (Sun 27th April)

If you need any new uniform for St George's Day Parade on Sunday (27th Apr) the Ware & District Scout Shop is open every Tuesday evening during term time - for all your Beaver, Cub & Scout Uniforms, woggles, belts etc.

Woodland & Forest @ the huge District Easter Egg Hunt

easter egg hunt beavers 1288x754Stanstead Abbotts had a record 31 Beaver Scouts from both our Woodland and Forest at this year's huge Ware & District Beaver Egg Hunt. Beavers from all around the District hiked from 2nd Ware Scout Group's HQ all the way up to a field in Thundridge – a great walk through our local countryside.

4 Forest beaver CSB Awards April 201418 Beaver Scouts from our Forest Colony and their siblings and parents took over Adventure Castle last night (Friday) The soft play, go karting and bouncy castle left all children red cheeked and sweating but with huge smiles all round! All followed by lots of badges being handed out and 4 very special Chief Scout's Bronze Awards and a surprise birthday cake for Forest's Beaver Scout Leader, Lucy!

Forest Beavers earn their Safety Badges

altOver the last few weeks our Forest Beaver Scouts have been working towards their Safety Badge and learning some really important safety messages along the way. Using worksheets and quizzes the Beavers learned about the Green Cross Code and the Country Code and watched some short video clips about Road Safety, Water Safety and how to the treat the Countryside when they are out and about...

Sunday 27th April St George's Day Parade - Ware High Street to The Priory.

St George - the Patron Saint of Scouting

For everyone in the Scout Group - please check your Inbox for details or read it HERE. Our Beaver, Cub and Scout Troop Leaders will also be in contact for meeting times and places.

1,000 Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Bands parade through Ware watched by the Mayor and other VIPS, the press and 100's of specators along the route, before renewing their "Promises" at Ware Priory.  A major local event - not to be missed.  Lots of great photo ops for parents.

Full Uniforms and Black Shoes please - especially as we will be at the front of the parade this year!
