Scout Wobbleboarding

We offer an exciting programme of Scouting activities for boys and girls aged 6 to 14 years old.

Young people can join the adventure in one of our five sections:

We currently have around 140 young members from Stanstead Abbotts, Stanstead St. Margaret's, Great Amwell, Hoddesdon, Hertford Heath, Roydon and Ware.

With over 30 enthusiastic adult volunteers, we are an active and successful Scout Group always looking for new members, both young people and adults.

he Hertfordshire Mercury included a write up about how our Scout Troop helped box up and deliver collection boxes and poppies around the village in it's coverage of this year's Royal British Legion Hertfordshire Poppy Appeal at Hertford Castle earlier this week.  (P15 - in this week's edition (30/10/14) 

 
Woodland Beavers go riding!

Making Friends Beavers and horses 1024x71922 enthusiastic Beavers from Woodland Colony went riding last week at the Contessa Riding School in Colliers End.  For many of the Beavers this was their first time on horseback and the girls and boys had a wonderful time riding the 11 very well behaved horses and ponies.

Beaver Family Fun Day at the Zoo

PWP 4Hertfordshire Scouts took over Paradise Wildlife Park for their annual "Beaver Family Fun Day" in September and our Woodland and Forest Colony Beavers and their families enjoyed a fantastic and sunny day seeing the animals and taking part in the many activities on offer along with 100's of other girls and boys and their Beaver families from around the County.

Chief Scout's Silver Awards for 7 Panther Pack Cubs

Chief Scouts Award presentations for Stanstead Abbotts Panther Pack  1024x678Ware & District's Assistant District Commissoner for Cubs, Trevor Byworth came down to the Stanstead Abbotts HQ to present seven Panther Pack Cub Scouts with their Chief Scout's Silver Awards after completing lots of activities and challenges, learning new skills and, of course, having lots of lots of fun.

Scouts help local Poppy Appeal

Stanstead Abbotts Scouts packing Poppy Apeal boxes 508x768The Scout Troop's girls and boys worked together to prepare and deliver 15,000 poppies for this year's local Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal - causing quite a sensation in the village pubs, clubs and shops last weekend.

The Scouts Nocturnal Challenge

The Scout Troop had another exciting time last weekend when 23 of our finest Scouts took the Ware & District Scouts 10km Nocturnal Challenge – The District fielded a total of 13 teams - with 4 of those teams coming from Stanstead Abbotts; 10 km of Navigation, problem solving activities, challenges and teamwork followed by a mass sleepover at Great Amwell's HQ

Jaguar Cubs learn CPR & First Aid

Our casualty 965x768Adults, children and babies living and working in our local community may like to know that this week a 15 girls and boys in our Jaguar Cub Pack learned some potentially life saving skills during their First Aid evening at HQ.  The eight to ten year olds were taught valuable First Aid skills including CPR and resuscitation...
