We offer an exciting programme of Scouting activities for boys and girls aged 6 to 14 years old.

Young people can join the adventure in one of our five sections:

We currently have around 140 young members from Stanstead Abbotts, Stanstead St. Margaret's, Great Amwell, Hoddesdon, Hertford Heath, Roydon and Ware.

With over 30 enthusiastic adult volunteers, we are an active and successful Scout Group always looking for new members, both young people and adults.

Hertfordshire Scouts' Green Beret Competition: A rookie’s review

1 log pulling bestStanstead Abbotts entered 5 teams of Scouts into this year's Hertfordshire Scouts huge Green Beret Competition and our 30 Scouts had a fantastic time competing against over 700 other girls and boys over a rather muddy November weekend.

group shot Our victorious B2B Scout Teams had a "real blast" on the Thames on Saturday, when 17 girls and boys from the Scout Troop took to the water for an adrenaline fuelled 740hp twin turbo RIB blast to the sound of James Bond.

Huge turnout for Remembrance Sunday

beavers lay their wreathThank you to everyone who attended and helped with arranging another record turnout of 133 well-behaved and smartly turned out Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Young Leaders for the Remembrance Sunday Service at St Andrew’s Church.

With a strong turnout from all our adult volunteers and also some of the team from Ware & District Scouts, there were lots of very positive comments from the Vicar and congregation and the Church was packed with about 156 people involved in our local Scout Group.  

New Leaders and some Great Guys for our Beavers

photo 3Both our Beaver Colonies welcomed some new volunteer Leaders at their joint Family Bonfire Night. Everyone was delighted to watch as Tim, Mickey and Colin were formally invested by our Scout Group Leader Paul Stretch and it wasn't long before they were busy helping the Beavers make some fantastic Guys along with their families.

Jaguar Pack invest 9 new Cubs at Hertford Fire Station

cub and hose bestJaguar Cub Pack took their boys and girls to Hertford Fire Station where they learned all about Fire Safety, worked the Hoses, dressed their Young Leader in Fire Fighting Uniform and then Invested 9 new Cubs in front of the White Watch Crew and lots of parents and carers. A fantastic night.

photo 4 copyOur Forest Beavers volunteered to help with some extra chores at home over the next few weeks to the delight of their parents, worked on some Lego Team-building activities, wrapped up their allotment for Winter AND welcomed new volunteer "Doc" aka Natalie, as she was formally invested last week. A very busy night, by the sounds of it.
