Despite tough competition from other Scout Troops and adult teams our Scouts achieved a very respectable third place in this tough long distance event. Starting from the wharf at the Ware library car park they raced along the River Lea to the Saracen's Head bridge and back - a fifteen minute marathon paddle.
Ten teams battled for the Ware Town Council trophy, of which seven where Scout entries also competing for the Ware & District Scout Raft Race trophy. Our team consisted of: Sam, Elley, Claire, Robert, Oliver & Henry.
Photos of the raft raft race are now available in the gallery.
A duck's-eye view of the race from our raft's on-board video camera can be seen on YouTube here: and .
