1st Stanstead Abbotts and St. Margaret's Scout Group

At first, there were a few Cubs who didn’t seem overly impressed at the thought of holding snakes but didn’t mind if they were able to just look.

After Snakey Sue had told the Cubs about snakes, she brought out several of them for the Cubs to hold.  Well, it didn’t take long before ALL the Cubs, including those at the beginning who were unsure, were holding snakes of all sizes.  The Cubs not only held the snakes in their hands but they also had them curled up round their necks.  Then out came the BIG snake and they all wanted to hold this one too.  They had to sit down with this one as it was so BIG – it had to wrap itself round their waists to hang on.

By the end of the meeting, the Cubs all wanted one for Christmas (whether they get one or not, we’ll have to wait and see!)
