A team of 4 Stanstead Abbotts Scouts came 3rd in the Ware and District Cooking Competition held at 2nd Ware Scout Group's HQ in Poles Lane.

Their £18 'Local Produce' themed 3 course meal for 4, was cooked indoors on 2 gas stoves within 2 hours and served to the judges for marking before being enjoyed by the cooks themselves.

Among the local ingredients used were Foxholes Farm Pork, Royston Cider (for the sauce) and some malt extract with its French & Jupps origins along with some malted grain of various colours from the Maltings for part of their table decoration.. The standard of the competition was very high, as it is each year, and the team were really happy with their result, having prepared and practiced for the competition during the run up to the Competition.

Congratulations to Clare (PL), Curtis, Lenny and Rosie - great teamwork and very good cooking. (See photos in the Gallery.)
