The Jaguar Cub Pack spent their first evening back learning all about Saints and St George in particular – the Patron Saint of Scouting - in readiness for the huge parade and celebrations being held in Ware.
They learnt all about the various flags and symbols for each Saint such as the rose, daffodil, thistle and shamrock before enjoying a delicious St George’s Day Feast.
The truly tradition menu included a taste of Fish, Chips and Mushy Peas, Cucumber Sandwiches, Cornish Pasty, Pork Pie, Bubble and Squeak, Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding, Black Pudding, Cheese and Biscuits - Cheddar and Stilton, Victoria Sponge, Spotted Dick and Custard, Jam Roly Poly and Custard.
The Cubs will be all set in their smartest uniforms to join the huge parade and St George's Day celebrations in Ware on Sunday, 8th May. Rumour has it, the Stanstead Abbotts Beavers, Cubs and Scouts will be leading the 1000 strong parade along Ware High Street past the Mayor to renew their promises at The Priory. With the High Street closed to all traffic, the crowds are set to line the route to enjoy the spectacle. |
