On their second visit to the Rope Running centre at Kelverton Hatch, 3 new Scouts were invested as they flew down the big zip wire. Making their Scout Promise and salute at the top of the tower they were greeted into their Patrols at the bottom, as their new Patrol Leaders helped remove their harnesses and introduced them to their new Patrol.
Several parents joined the Scouts for the evening, with some overcoming their uncomfortableness with heights and really enjoying themselves! For the Scouts, however, with friends, Leaders and instructors encouraging them along, most were very happy taking to the highest rope routes and leaping off zip wires and drops!
After 2 1/2 hrs and the light beginning to fade, the Scouts left the trees and returned home.
The Cubs in our Jaguar and Panther Packs just might be wondering where they might be invested when they move up to Scouts??? Its bound to be fun and adventurous to be sure! |
