The 1st Stanstead Abbotts Jaguar Cub Pack have been working on their Fitness Challenge, taking part in a variety of sporting activities, including Cycling, Irish Dancing and the Police Service Bleep Test.
The Cycling took place at St Andrew's Primary School in Stanstead Abbotts, and Cubs showed how to mount and dismount correctly, demonstrated safe cycling, left hand and right hand turns with arms indicating but the hardest thing of all proved to be the slowest cycle race which required immense control of their bikes. They also spent time on bike safety and maintenance.
For the Irish Dancing they were visited by The Hennigan O'Loughlin School of Irish Dance. Having watched some demonstrations of the dancing, they then took part in a warm up followed by learning a few steps. Suffice to say, there were many red and very happy faces at the end of it.
The 'Police Service Bleep Test' put the Jaguar Pack Cubs through their paces on occasion reaching levels surpassing that required to be a Police officer. Lily out ran all the Cubs, almost reaching level 13 (it is level 5.4 to join the Police, to put it in to perspective) |
