Green Beret! - What a weekend! Around 800 scouts, 134 teams, over 100 amazing bases to try, including pulling Landrovers, climbing through cars, over vans, across water, bowling in a smoke-filled disco to heavy-metal music! Not to mention the orienteering and assault courses.

Our teams were brilliant – the Bulldogs, led by Leigh, came a respectable 75th overall and the Owls, led by Henry, a superb 36th overall. The owls did really well at the assault course coming 10th – incredible when you look at the size of some of the teams competing with six strapping 14yr-old lads! Great Amwell won the district ‘boot’ trophy – and our Owls came second! – next year it has got to be the boot for us!

We also played host to our friends from Devon who brought a team from South-Brent – they will return the favour when we take our more experienced scouts for the annual March March across wildest Dartmoor (First weekend in March for selected scouts).

The scouts were fantastic and were a credit to us all – a huge thank you to them and also to our brilliant leaders for catering for their every need – this is the one camp where the scouts don’t have to do any washing-up! Although Grace and Holly were cooking sausages soon after 7am Sunday morning – They could not believe just how many sausages you need for 18 hungry scouts and 10 leaders.
