Over 400 Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Explorer Scouts descended on Wodson Park for the fun packed Ware & District Christmas Party, organised and run by a vast contingent of Leaders and adults helpers from many of the groups involved.
Many of our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts joined in the afternoon's fun and games which was also attended by the Mayor of Ware Alan Warman, and his wife, who was seen at one point, very happily letting children try on his chains of office. Of the many and varied activities on offer, the street dancing, circus skills (both run by professional trainers) and face painting were definitely some of the most popular, with everyone coming together towards the end of the afternoon for a fantastic mass street dance session where everyone showed off the moves and routines they'd learnt during the afternoon.
After the Explorer Scouts' very entertaining re-enactment of the Nativity Story, Steve Jordon, Acting District Commissioner and the Vicar from Christchurch, Ware led the party into some carol singing, accompanied by the music from the Church's music group - electric keyboard, guitars and singers. The party ended with a mass release of party poppers and whizzing balloons.
P.S. Jack FM covered the story too this week and you can view the story on their website by following the link below to Jack FM's webpage (but please remember its an external link and we cannot be responsible for the content of other websites!)
