Our Beaver Scout Colonies…
We run two Beaver Scout colonies for girls and boys aged 6 – 8 years old.
Our Forest and Woodland Beaver Scout colonies usually meet on separate evenings each week during term time and have lots of fun taking part in many different activities at HQ and out and about on trips, camps and visits.
Each Beaver Scout colony’s volunteer leader team plan a wide range of activities which can include making things, learning new skills, going on visits, making friends, working towards badges, taking part in local District and County Beaver events with other local Beaver Scouts and occasionally camps and sleepovers. A Beaver Scout sleepover is often the first time a young person spends a night away from their family.
Easily identified by their distinctive turquoise sweatshirts, Beaver Scouts belong to the first and youngest section in the Scouting family. Girls and boys can join Beaver Scouts in the three months leading up to their sixth birthday. They can then move up to the next section, Cub Scouts, around their eight birthday.
Beaver Scout Promise
Like all members of Scouting, Beaver Scouts make a promise when they join.
The Beaver Scout Promise is:
I promise to do my best
To be kind and helpful
And to love God.
