Woodland Beavers’ Emergency Aid and CPR night
Posted on 28 October 2018
First Aid trainers from the District and leaders joined together to teach the girls and boys in our Woodland Beaver Colony and some of their parents, some potentially life saving Emergency Aid skills.
They all hugely enjoyed learning how to badge each other up for various injuries, how to treat burns and nose bleeds but also what to do in an emergency. Then everyone was taught how to do CPR using the ‘Annie’ models the trainers had brought along and hear about how to find and use a defibrillator. All very important #SkillsForLife which all Beavers, Cubs and Scouts are repeatedly taught in increasing detail as they get older.
For your information, in addition, all our Young Leaders and adult leader volunteers receive free obligatory First Response training as part of their initial training and please note that there are now 2 defibrillators in the village, one at St Andrew’s Primary School and the other is in the old BT Telephone Box on the High Street near the playground.
