Woodland Beavers visit the Fire Station

Posted on 23 September 2018

The girls and boys in our Woodland Beaver Colony, along with several of their parents and carers, travelled over to Hertford to visit the Fire Station.

The Beavers enjoyed a fantastic tour of the station and being shown the appliances, as well as hearing about the importance of fire safety and how to deal with an emergency.

Back outside, everyone really enjoyed getting rather wet while they were given the opportunity to man the pumps with the help of crew on duty that evening from from the Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.

The Beavers, parents, carers and the leader team all came away from the evening having had a great time but also even more aware of the importance of fire safety, how to deal with emergencies and reminder that they offer free home visits to talk about fire safety and even fit free smoke alarms if needed.
